Accessing Student Email

📧 Read your COD student email on the web, on your computer, or on your phone.

🌐 On the web (any device)

  1. Go to outlook.office.com.
  2. Enter your College email (for example, student@dupage.edu) and password, then select Sign in.
  3. Approve the sign-in in Microsoft Authenticator: type the number shown on screen into the app, then select Approve. You will land in your inbox.

📱 On your phone

  1. Install the free Microsoft Outlook app (App Store or Google Play).
  2. Open it, tap Add Account, enter your College email, and sign in.
  3. Approve the Authenticator prompt. Mail, calendar, and contacts sync automatically.
🔑 Can't get in? Most sign-in problems are one of these:
  • Forgot your password? Reset it yourself at passwordreset.microsoftonline.com, or at inside.cod.edu under Set/Forgot Password.
  • Got a new phone, or your Authenticator prompt stopped working? Your account is protected by Microsoft Authenticator, and a new phone does not carry your work-account sign-in over automatically. If you can still get a code another way (your old phone, or a backup method you set up earlier), go to My Sign-Ins > Security info, choose Add sign-in method > Microsoft Authenticator, and scan the QR code with the app on your new phone. If you have no way to get a code at all, the Help Desk can reset your sign-in setup so you can register your new phone.
  • Account locked, or "too many attempts"? Wait a few minutes, then use the password reset link above. If it persists, contact the Help Desk.
📦 Becoming a COD employee? Your email is preserved. When your @dupage.edu student account moves to a Staff/Faculty account, your messages carry over, so you will not lose them.
