Base Navigation: Notification Settings
In Blackboard Ultra Base Navigation you can manage alerts for all of your courses in one place, including due dates, new content, grades, and more. You choose how and when you receive notifications (by email, push, or within the Activity Stream), so you stay informed without feeling overwhelmed.
📧 The three ways to get notified
| Type | What it does |
|---|---|
| Activity Stream | Adjusts the notifications you see in your Activity Stream feed inside Blackboard. |
| Controls the email digest sent to your @dupage.edu inbox, right away or once a day. | |
| Push | Controls alerts in the Blackboard Learn mobile app. |
Not all notification options are the same across the three types.
⚙️ Open your notification settings
-
Select your name on the left navigation menu.
- Under System Settings, open Global Notification Settings and choose the notification type you want to change.
For a deeper look at each type, view the Blackboard Help page on notification settings. Some options may look different based on the College of DuPage Blackboard setup.
📋 Stream Notifications
Stream Notifications adjust what appears in your Activity Stream. Within this section you can choose which notifications you want to see.
- An arrow to the right of an option expands the menu so you can set more specific notifications for that item.
📧 Email Notifications
Email Notifications adjust the digest email you receive. You can choose when it arrives, Right away or Once a day (the default is once a day). Within this section you can pick which items you receive by email. You can clear all of them to limit how many emails you get, but you may still receive emails about Announcements.
📱 Push Notifications
Push Notifications are for the Blackboard Learn mobile app. Due date notifications always appear in the app, and you can adjust which other push notifications you receive here.
