💬 Read and send course messages from one place in Base Navigation.

The Messages tool in Base Navigation is a single place to read messages from all of your courses. You can open your global Messages page directly from the left-hand navigation bar. By design, this tool keeps quick communication (reminders, quick questions, and social interactions) inside the course instead of in email.

📥 Viewing and replying to messages

If you have unread messages, a number appears on the Messages tool link showing how many new messages you have received since your last log-in.

  1. Select Messages on the left-hand navigation bar.
  2. Choose the course you want to view and send messages in from your list of available courses.

  3. Select Inbox to view messages you have received, or Sent to view messages you have sent.

  5. Under Compose Message, type a Subject in the Subject field and write your message in the Content Editor. Once your message is complete, select Submit to send it.

ℹ️ Reading vs. creating: Both tasks start the same way (open Messages, then pick a course). After that, choose Inbox to read a message, or Create Message to start a new one.
